She closes herself in her shell, a thick space suit, and everyone says they have never seen a colder woman. But we've gotten used to it, even our best friends can't imagine her otherwise: stony, she doesn't feel anything.

When it gets dark, she walks through the park, sometimes sits on a bench and bends down to stroke the dog's head. He hugs, dips his face into the soft fur and sits like that for a few minutes. Saying something in his ear. The dog licks her eyes. When she lifts her head, her face is wet. The woman wipes her eyes with a handkerchief, then they get up and go home.

If you had seen that, you wouldn't think that woman was stone anymore.
You might remember that she never experienced love: she didn't know her father, her mother didn't have time for her because she ran from one man to another. Then he went abroad, left the girl with his grandmother, rarely called, said it was too expensive, and the child felt lost.
