I dreamed that we were on an uninhabited island: a shipwreck disappears on the horizon, the waves throw us

to the shore of white sand, we lie under the palm trees and look at the clouds in the blue sky. We are happy - now no one will separate us. One two in the whole world - could it be better, what else could lovers lack?

Freedom?

I didn't want to let you go even for an hour, I followed you with my eyes, I listened to your steps, I was awake when you slept, I watched how you breathed, how your eyelids quivered when you dreamed. I was afraid to fall asleep so that I wouldn't miss a second - I will always be with you.

I thought that this way I would understand you better, there would be no secrets, no ambiguity between us, we would be closer, as if two souls merged into one.

Souls?

I thought I knew what it was. I imagined that I knew who you were, what you felt every moment, that I knew you as yourself. But is it possible? Is it possible to really know someone if you often don't even understand yourself?

You woke up this morning and didn't open your eyes. With your eyes closed, you washed, dressed, drank coffee, ate breakfast and left. Without saying anything, not a word.

And the next day I received a letter:

"I left to miss you even more.

I left because I want a little freedom.

I need to be with myself at least sometimes
